Heidi Montag claimed she worked out from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. everyday. While running and lifting weights seems reasonable, it doesn't seem possible that anyone could exercise for 14 hours every day. Even if it is possible, it is not recommended. Guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine put Montag's excessive workout plan into perspective. ACSM recommends doing moderately intense cardio 30 minutes a day, five days a week, or doing vigorously intense cardio 20 minutes a day, three days a week. In terms of weight lifting, ACSM recommends doing 8 to 10 strength-training exercises, with 8 to 12 repetitions of each exercise twice a week
Indeed in late April we saw Montag looking oddly human in jeans and a conservative cardigan while shopping in West Hollywood. Yes, she appeared to have a little more meat on her over-surgerized bones; but looking normal, Montag says, is not what she's after.
